Sancharika established the “Sancharika Equality Award” in April 2000 during its fourth anniversary. The award, which carries a cash prize and a commendation letter, is given out to the journalist who has written the most outstanding report on gender issues that year. This event has generated keen interest among journalists to write on such issues, and this is evident from the increasing queries that we have started to receive.All of the awarded articles so far relate to the different types of violence that women face.
