Journalists should raise gender issues

A three-day wrokshop on "Gender Orientation for Media Professionals" was held from February 18 to 20 in Dhulikhel.

Organized by Sancharika Samuha (SAS), in collaboration with SNV/Nepal, more than 20 jounalists affiliated to both the press and electornic media participated in the workshop.

Senior jounalist and media trainer Ram Krishna Regmi said that the media should raise women related issues as they are social ones.

Regmi also said that the raising such issues would help address the social problems creatd by discriminations related to gender.

During the worshop, SAS executives - Bandana Rana, Gyanu Pandey, Babita Basnet and Arati Chataut - worked as facilitators.
