Kharel gets Sancharika Equality Award

Minister for Information and Communications, Shiva Raj Joshi presented the "Sancharika Equality Award" to jounalist Shankhar Kharel, of the Kantipur daily, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of Sancharika Samuha (SAS).

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Joshi said development is not possible withot population management while women's deveopment is equally important.

Minister of State for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Kamala Pant highlighted the role of the media towards gender sensitisatoin.

Executive Presidnet of SAS, Bandana Rana dwelt on the activities of SAS.

The award was porvided by SAS fo the best article written for promoting gender equality. The award carries a purse of Rs 15,000 and certificate.
