Women's Involvement and Role of Media in the Peace Process, Chitwan

Sancharika Samuha in collaboration with AED organized an orientation programme in Chitwan on 07 and 08 September, 2007. The Resource person for the programme was Advocate Basanta Basnet and President of Sancharika Samuha Babita Basnet and General Secretary Nirmala Sharma supplemented the programme through their inputs on gender perspectives and the importance of women's involvement. The programme was coordinated and facilitated by Ms. Shanta Adhikary of Gorkhaptra Daily, Chitwan. The speakers of the inauguration programme were Narayan Sapkota of FNJ, Chitwan, Dinesh K. Thapaliya of Press Union, Chitwan, Hari P. Pokhrel of Press Chautari, Chitwan, Rajendra P. Shah of FNj, Dhading and General Secretary and Facilitator Nirmala Sharma highlighted the objectives of the programme. A total of 56 participants representing the media and civil society participated in the programme.
